From harvesting the tree sap used to create the lacquer resin to sanding and custom-cutting the wooden base, every step of the production process is entirely handmade. Experienced lacquerware artisans apply Caspari's designs to the wood, adding gold leaf, silver leaf, and hand-painted details if desired, and then finish each piece with multiple layers of high-gloss lacquer. These carefully applied lacquer layers provide a stunning finish and protect the object long-term.
